Technology - Aerodynamics and Controls
Aerodynamics and Controls Designing the geometry of our two wings configuration we use the NASA Vortex Code to minimize the induced drag of the main wing which is also influenced by the canard.  Some hundred hours were spent until we reached a satisfying result. An important detail hereby is the vertical staggering of the lifting surfaces. Beside this we optimized the overall design for ‚state of the art' L/D ratio ~ 47.

A further innovation concerns the yaw control by electrical driven drag rudders and the pneumatic actuators for the glide ratio control during final approach. Specifically developed soft- and hardware (fly by light) were introduced to guarantee the failsave yaw controls.
